Over the course of a week in December 2025, six Dakar-based filmmakers gathered at RAW Material Company (RAW) in the city's Zone B neighborhood for the fourth of five collaborative AFMAC workshops. Facilitated by the production company Fanta Sy—founded by Mati Diop with Fabacry Assymby Coly—the weeklong intensive focused on the critical step of moving scripts into production.

Founded by curator Koyo Kouoh, RAW functioned as a home base, with daily exchange between the lead artists and participants interwoven with communal lunches that often drew other Dakar-based creatives, in the spirit of the space being a center for art, knowledge, and society. On the final night of the workshop, Diop hosted the participants and AFMAC members on Ngor Island for a screening of her uncle Djibril Diop Mambéty's beloved 1999 masterwork, The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun.

Daker workshop participants included Aïssatou Dial, Pape Mbaye Diop, Mohamed Ly, Rehanna Ngom, Abdourahmane Niang, and Abdoulaye Silman Sy.

A group of twelve people pose playfully on a metal climbing structure in an outdoor park. Some sit at the top, others stand or lean against the bars, and a few hang upside down or strike expressive poses. They appear joyful and energetic, surrounded by trees and greenery.
